JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (JRF) UNDER DST SPONSORED PROJECT (NIT Meghalaya)

Motivated and eligible candidates are invited for a walk-in-interview for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the project entitled “Assessment of climate change impact on soils and various water basins of Meghalaya using existing and newer techniques” under under the HICAB (Network Programmes) as part of the National Mission on Sustaining Himalayan Ecosystem (NMSHE), Department of Science & Technology. The project involves frequent filed visits for sample collection across Meghalaya, regular analysis of water and soil samples in the lab, synthesis of organic & inorganic sensing probes based on the requirement of the project, etc.

Eligibility:

1. M.Sc. in Chemistry (where specialization is not offered by the institute/organization/university) / Organic Chemistry / Inorganic Chemistry.

2. Preference may be given to NET/Gate qualified candidates.

Age limit: Must not be more than 28 years as on December 01, 2019 (relaxable as per the norms/orders of Government of India).

Consolidated monthly compensation / FellowshipRs. 25,000/- per month + HRA 10% for first two years and thereafter Rs. 28,000/- per month + HRA 10%.

Duration: Initial appointment is for one year, which is extendable up to 3 years solely based on the performance. The starting date of the project will be announced as per the availability of the fund.

General terms and conditions:

The position is temporary and renewable each year subject to satisfactory performance for a maximum of three (03) years. The candidate selected for this position can also apply for the Ph.D. program of NIT Meghalaya as per the eligibility criteria.

The selection will be based on the performance of the interview, academic career, and the need of the project. Mere possession of minimum qualification does not guarantee selection. The only selected candidates will be communicated to join as JRF and no other communication in this regard will be entertained. The authority reserves the right of accepting/rejecting any or all applications without assigning any reason thereof.

No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
